At home together -The Selfish Crocodile

What does the word 'selfish' mean?

Why isn't it good to be selfish?

What can you do to be less selfish?

The crocodile in the story was selfish at the start of the book but he learnt to share things with others and he made friends when he was able to share the river with the other animals.

God wants us to share the things we have with other people and not to be selfish. Philippians 2 verses 3 and 4 in the Bible say this:

'Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble towrds one another, always considering others better than yourself. And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own.'

What could you share?

Prayer - Dear God, help me to share the things that I have with others and to think about other people's needs and feelings. Amen.

Jokes -

What do you get if you cross a crocodile with a rooster?         A croc-a-doodle-doo!

What is worse than being chased by a crocodile?      Being chased by 2!
