At home together - It Wasn't Me!

Listen to the story 'It Wasn't Me!' and think about these questions:

  • What things did Oscar and Ella lie about?
  • Who did they blame?
  • If Patch could talk, what do you think he would say?
  • How did they feel when they took the blame for something that they hadn't done?

One of Jesus' friends called Peter wasn't honest. When the disciples were having their final meal together (The Last Supper) Jesus knew he was going to be arrested and he said to Peter "Before the cockerel crows, you will say 3 times that you don't know me". Peter was sure that he wouldn't do that, but sure enough soon after Jesus was arrested someone said to him "You were with that man called Jesus" and Peter replied "NO! I don't know him" and then the cockerel crowed just as Jesus said it would.

  • How do you think Jesus would have felt when Peter said he wasn't friends with Jesus and didn't know him?
  • How did Peter feel after he had lied?
  • What do you think Peter did next? What is the right thing to do when you haven't told the truth?

A prayer about telling the truth:

Dear God, Help me to try to tell the truth even when it is hard. When I have done something wrong, remind me to say 'sorry' and own up to what I have done. I know that you forgive me when I say sorry.  Amen

Have a go at making the craft. Your dog doesn't have to be brown; he could be spotty, or black, or you could add fur to make him fluffy. Or, you could make a dog out of Lego or paint a picture of a dog. Give it a name!

  • Do you have any pets? If not, what pet would you like to have, if you could?

Don't forget to share your pictures with me on the Facebook page 'West of Severn Families' or email them to me at debbie.westof7@gmail.com
