Church Urban Fund support to churches, for those affected by the Winter Flooding

This winter saw significant flooding to areas across England, something which has caused hardship for many people in local communities. Churches in these communities are responding in remarkable ways to help those hit hardest by these floods.

To support this, Church Urban Fund launched an appeal to raise money that could be directed to areas badly affected by these floods.

Thanks to the generosity of Christians and churches across England we have launched a Flood Response Fund to support the work being done to help those affected by flooding.

Small grants of up to £500 are available for churches in England who are acting to counter the impacts of this winter’s floods. This funding is available not only for work that will be carried out but we are also offering retrospective funding for emergency action taken as the crisis developed.

As the need and response in each area may be different, we have kept our criteria for this fund as broad as possible. We only ask that applicants highlight the specific need and how they intend to respond, or did respond, to this.

We will however prioritise action that is responding to human needs, such as food, clothing or shelter that is or was provided due to the flooding.

The application form for our Flood Response Fund is attached.

The deadline for applications is the 11th April, and we aim to have made a decision on all applications by 16th April.
